Impact of the Montreal Motorcycle Show

The Montreal Motorcycle Show is the largest in Canada in terms of verified paid attendance and ranks among the most important motorcycle shows in North America.

For the prospective exhibitor, whether you want to introduce a new product, service or concept, or to boost your share of the market, this is the time and the place to reach your audience.

No other event or promotional tool can put you in touch with such a large number of motorcyclists, current or future. Their motivation and enthusiasm for the sport yields strong economic benefits for show exhibitors.

In 2010, the show will again play a major role in launching the new riding season. Thanks to its position in the selling season, as well as to the nature of its clientele, the show provides a strong stimulus to the Quebec market year after year.

As in recent years, the Montreal Motorcycle Show will occupy the entire 200,000 square feet available on the 200 level of the Montreal Convention Centre. The planned exhibits will revolve around the new models of motorcycles, ATVs, scooters, custom and antique bikes as well as a full range of specialized clothing and accessories.

A blood donor clinic has taken place at the show for the past eight years in co-operation with Héma-Québec. It takes place during all three days of the show and honours the memory of motorcycling journalist Yves-Martin Proulx, who died of complications from leukemia in 2001. As always, his family and friends are active participants.

In 2010, the Montreal Motorcycle Show and the blood donor clinic take place February 26, 27 and 28.

Profile of the Montreal show visitor

According to our most recent show visitor survey, three out of four currently own a motorcycle. About 52 per cent of showgoers are between 31 and 50 years of age, and 80 per cent of all visitors are male. Our showgoers have been riding motorcycles for over 20 years. They are also homeowners, own cars or vans, are great travellers, buyers of financial services, holders of insurance policies and consumers of electronic products. More than 82 per cent of visitors use the Internet on a regular basis.

Publicity campaign: An intense and focused promotion

The promotional campaign for the 2010 Montreal Motorcycle Show has a budget based on a direct expense of about $4.50 per visitor, without counting indirect promotions. It includes flyers, radio and television advertising, print ads in daily newspapers as well as in special-interest magazines with audited circulation and messages in the Montreal subway system. In addition, the show has its own interactive web site which serves to keep show visitors and the general public up to date on activities within the show. The site also guides showgoers to exhibitors of specific interest to them.

The admission price of $13.50 includes taxes.
